Binary Analysis Tool

The Binary Analysis Tool (BAT) is a modular framework for inspecting binary code, such as firmware, in order to find open source components and licence compliance issues without access to the source code. It unpacks binaries and compares their content with a database of known open source software.

BAT was developed by Armijn Hemel and is distributed under the Apache License 2.0. Its GitHub repository is labelled “LEGACY” and was archived in 2022.
