Tool overview
TestSpark is a plugin for JetBrains IDEs that generates unit tests by integrating several test generation tools and techniques directly in the IDE.
It supports three strategies: LLM-based test generation using OpenAI, HuggingFace, Google AI or the JetBrains AI Assistant platform, with automatic checks that generated tests are valid; local search-based test generation using EvoSuite; and symbolic execution-based test generation using Kex.
TestSpark is an open source project by JetBrains Research on GitHub; the last change dates from January 2026.
