Detox

Detox is a gray box end-to-end testing and automation framework for mobile apps, developed by Wix and widely used for React Native applications. Cross-platform tests for iOS and Android are written in JavaScript with a modern async-await API, so breakpoints in asynchronous tests work as expected.

Detox monitors asynchronous operations inside the app and synchronises with them automatically, which tackles flakiness at its root. Tests run on devices and simulators like a real user would, and are designed to run on CI platforms such as CircleCI or Jenkins. Detox is test-runner agnostic and comes with Jest integration out of the box.

Detox is open source under the MIT licence and actively maintained on GitHub.
