Tool overview
Karate is an open source test automation framework by Karate Labs that covers API, UI and AI testing in a single tool. Tests are written in a concise, readable syntax designed to reduce the amount of test code compared with general-purpose programming languages.
Karate tests run in any continuous integration system, and the framework is MCP-native so it can be used by AI agents. Karate Labs also offers a commercial quality governance platform built around the framework.
The framework is distributed under the MIT licence and is actively maintained on GitHub.
