Tavern

Tavern is a pytest plugin, command-line tool and Python library for automated API testing. Tests are written in YAML files with a simple, concise syntax, and can be customised for complex scenarios.

It tests RESTful APIs as well as MQTT-based APIs. Used as a pytest plugin, tests are stored in test_*.tavern.yaml files and run with pytest, giving access to the pytest ecosystem. Tavern can also be integrated into another test framework or CI setup through its Python library, or run with the tavern-ci command-line tool.

Tavern is distributed under the MIT licence and is actively developed on GitHub.
