Vitest

Vitest is a next generation testing framework powered by Vite, the front-end build tool. It is installed as a development dependency with npm, yarn, pnpm, bun or deno.

Vitest reuses the Vite configuration and pipeline of a project, and can be tried online on StackBlitz, where it runs directly in the browser almost identically to a local setup. The current version requires Vite 6.4 or later and Node 22.12 or later.

Vitest is distributed under the MIT licence and actively developed on GitHub; version 5.0.5 was released in October 2026.
