PyModel

Model-based testing framework in Python

Tool overview

PyModel is an open source model-based testing framework in Python. The tester codes a model that can generate as many test cases as needed and also checks the test outcomes, which helps where too many test cases are needed to write them all by hand.

The samples included with PyModel contain models and test scripts for network sockets, a communication protocol, embedded controllers, data structures, a multithreaded application and a web application. The framework includes an analyser that explores and visualises the behaviour of models, and a tester that runs generated tests against the implementation, offline or on the fly.

The original version by Jon Jacky is no longer maintained; a fork adding Python 3 support is being developed.
