A Real Validator

Offline HTML validator for Windows based on an SGML parser

Tool overview

A Real Validator is a Windows application that checks HTML documents against their document type definition (DTD). It relies on an SGML parser and works offline; it is the desktop counterpart of the WDG HTML Validator and shares its parsing engine with the online WDG and W3C validators of the same period.

The tool was developed by Liam Quinn and distributed as shareware (30-day trial, paid registration). The official website is still online but gives no version number or release date, and download sites list compatibility with Windows 95 to Windows XP only.
