async-profiler

async-profiler is a low-overhead sampling profiler for Java that does not suffer from the safepoint bias of traditional Java profilers. It works with OpenJDK and other runtimes based on the HotSpot JVM, and also shows non-Java threads (such as GC and JIT compiler threads) and native and kernel frames in stack traces.

It can profile CPU time, Java heap allocations, native memory allocations and leaks, contended locks, and hardware and software performance counters such as cache misses, page faults and context switches. Results are produced as flame graphs, JFR files or other formats, with converters provided.

async-profiler is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 licence, with releases for Linux (x64 and arm64) and macOS.
