Catch2

C++ unit testing framework with micro-benchmarking and BDD macros

Tool overview

Catch2 is mainly a unit testing framework for C++, which also provides basic micro-benchmarking features and simple BDD macros. It targets C++14, C++17 and later.

Catch2 aims to be simple and natural to use: test names do not have to be valid identifiers, assertions look like normal C++ boolean expressions, and sections provide a local way to share set-up and tear-down code between tests.

Catch2 is distributed under the Boost Software License 1.0 and actively developed on GitHub; version 3.16.1 was released in October 2026.
