Datadog is a cloud monitoring and observability platform that collects metrics, traces and logs from infrastructure and applications. During performance and load tests, it shows how servers, databases and services behave, and helps locate the component that limits throughput or response time.

Its Synthetic Monitoring module runs code-free API, browser and mobile tests that simulate user flows and requests. Browser tests are created with a hosted web recorder, with step-by-step screenshots and session replay. The same tests can run in CI/CD pipelines, and real user monitoring and error tracking complete the picture.

Datadog is a commercial SaaS service priced per module and usage, with a free infrastructure plan limited to five hosts and a free trial for the other products.
