GitLab CI/CD

GitLab CI/CD is the continuous integration and delivery system built into GitLab. It continuously builds, tests, deploys and monitors code changes, catching bugs early and helping ensure that code deployed to production complies with established standards.

A pipeline is defined in a .gitlab-ci.yml file at the root of the project, which describes stages, jobs and scripts, variables, job dependencies and when each job runs. Stages such as build, test and deploy define the order of execution, and jobs run on GitLab runners. The documentation also covers CI/CD components and inputs, pipeline security, secrets management, Auto DevOps and testing features.

GitLab CI/CD is available in the Free, Premium and Ultimate tiers, on GitLab.com, GitLab Self-Managed and GitLab Dedicated.
