Spock

Testing and specification framework for the JVM

New Popular

Tool overview

Spock is a testing, specification and mocking framework for JVM developers that emphasises readability. It combines behaviour-driven development concepts with the concise syntax of Groovy, so that tests are easy to understand, even for non-programmers.

Spock includes built-in support for mocks and stubs, data-driven testing that runs the same test with different inputs, and integration with the JUnit Platform (JUnit 5 and later) and common build tools.

Spock is distributed under the Apache License 2.0 and actively developed on GitHub; version 2.5 was released in October 2026.
