Tool overview
TextTest is an application-independent tool for text-based functional testing: it runs a batch-mode program in many different ways and compares the text output it produces to control the application’s behaviour. Command-line tools run existing tests, and development tools help create new ones.
TextTest is open source; it is distributed on SourceForge, updated in 2026.
