Azure App Testing

Managed Azure service for load testing (formerly Azure Load Testing)

Tool overview

Azure App Testing, formerly Azure Load Testing, is a fully managed Azure service for high-scale load testing and end-to-end testing. It simulates traffic for applications wherever they are hosted, from multiple regions, against public endpoints or private endpoints in a virtual network.

A load test can be created quickly from a URL in the Azure portal, or from uploaded Apache JMeter or Locust scripts for more advanced scenarios. Playwright tests can be run in parallel on cloud-hosted browsers through Playwright Workspaces. For applications hosted on Azure, the service collects server-side resource metrics to help identify bottlenecks, and tests can run in Azure DevOps and GitHub CI/CD pipelines. A Visual Studio Code extension supports test authoring with GitHub Copilot.

It is a commercial Microsoft service billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, according to virtual user hours and browser minutes consumed.
