Tool overview
behave is a behaviour-driven development (BDD) tool for Python. BDD encourages collaboration between developers, QA and non-technical or business participants in a software project.
behave uses tests written in a natural language style, backed by Python code that implements each step. The documentation covers installation, a tutorial, feature test setup, the behave API, related software and the configuration of the behave tool.
behave is open source and maintained on GitHub; version 1.3.3 was released in September 2025.
