Codeception

Codeception is a testing framework for PHP covering acceptance, functional, API, unit and integration tests. Acceptance tests drive real browsers through Selenium WebDriver or emulate them with PhpBrowser; functional tests run inside frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, Yii and Phalcon; API tests cover REST and SOAP; unit tests are built on PHPUnit. Modules provide database access (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and data snapshots.

Tests are written in a BDD-inspired style. Codeception is distributed under the MIT licence; version 5.3.7 was released in October 2026.
