Randomly terminates instances to test resilience
Chaos Monkey randomly terminates virtual machine instances and containers running in a production environment. Exposing engineers to failures more often encourages them to build resilient services; it follows the Principles of Chaos Engineering.
This version of Chaos Monkey is fully integrated with Spinnaker, the continuous delivery platform used at Netflix, and requires applications to be managed with Spinnaker in order to terminate instances.
Chaos Monkey was created by Netflix and is open source on GitHub; the last change to the repository dates from October 2024.
