Security-oriented, feedback-driven, evolutionary fuzzer
Honggfuzz is a security-oriented, feedback-driven, evolutionary, general-purpose fuzzer. It uses software and hardware-based code coverage to find bugs.
It is multi-process and multi-threaded to use all CPU cores, and supports persistent fuzzing, where APIs are tested in-process at very high iteration speeds. Feedback comes from compile-time instrumentation or from hardware features such as Intel BTS and PT, and fuzzing can start from an empty corpus. Low-level APIs such as ptrace are used to detect hijacked signals and hidden crashes. It runs on Linux, macOS, Android, NetBSD, FreeBSD and Windows (Cygwin), and is one of the engines used by OSS-Fuzz.
Honggfuzz is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 licence.
