Model-based test design tool deriving test cases from flowchart models
Agile Requirements Designer (ARD) is a model-based testing tool published by Broadcom (originally developed by Grid Tools, then CA Technologies). Requirements and expected application behaviour are modelled as flowcharts, from which ARD derives test cases; path optimisation techniques select a set of tests that covers the model.
Test cases can be linked to test data and expected results, exported to test management tools such as ALM, or used to generate test automation scripts. When the model changes, the derived tests are updated accordingly. ARD Hub, introduced in version 3.0, provides a central repository for models and browser-based review. Later versions added a plug-in framework for integrations, automation generation from the command line and, in 3.5, the import of Swagger files to model API tests.
ARD is a commercial product. The latest announced version is 3.6 (November 2025).
