Chaos Toolkit

Chaos engineering experiments declared as code

Tool overview

Chaos Toolkit is an open source chaos engineering toolkit for developers, used to explore and test systems to discover their weaknesses.

Experiments are declared as JSON or YAML files, so they can be stored, shared and orchestrated like any other code. An experiment describes a steady-state hypothesis, the method that injects faults and the rollbacks. The toolkit is extensible through an open API, and extensions drive platforms such as Kubernetes and cloud providers. It is designed for automation and can be embedded in CI/CD pipelines.

Chaos Toolkit is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 licence, and is installed as a Python package.
