grpcurl

Command-line tool to interact with gRPC servers

Tool overview

grpcurl is a command-line tool that lets you interact with gRPC servers; it is essentially curl for gRPC. Its main purpose is to invoke RPC methods on a gRPC server from the command line.

gRPC servers use a binary encoding on the wire, protocol buffers, which makes them impossible to use with a regular HTTP client. grpcurl accepts messages in JSON and converts them to and from protobuf. The schema comes from server reflection, proto source files or compiled protoset files, and grpcurl can list and describe services and methods. Unary and streaming calls, TLS and custom headers are supported, which is useful for manual testing and scripts.

grpcurl is developed by FullStory and is free and open source under the MIT licence.
