Tool overview
Infer is a static analyzer for Java, C, C++ and Objective-C, developed in the open by Meta (Facebook).
For Android and Java code, Infer checks for null pointer exceptions, resource leaks, annotation reachability, missing lock guards and concurrency race conditions. For C, C++ and iOS/Objective-C code, it checks for null pointer dereferences, memory leaks, coding conventions and unavailable APIs.
Infer is distributed under the MIT licence and actively developed on GitHub; version 1.3.0 was released in May 2026.
