Zuul

Project gating CI system with cross-project testing

Tool overview

Zuul is an open source continuous integration system used by large open source projects. It is designed for project gating: changes are merged automatically only after they pass their tests, which keeps the main branch healthy.

Jobs are written as Ansible playbooks, so the same playbooks can deploy a system and run its tests. Cross-project dependencies allow changes that span several repositories to be tested together before any of them is merged. Zuul works with code review systems such as Gerrit, GitHub and GitLab, and jobs and pipelines are configured in YAML files stored in the repositories.

Zuul is developed under the Apache 2.0 licence and managed by the Open Infrastructure Foundation; its source code is hosted on OpenDev.
