Web-based code review system for Git repositories
Gerrit is a web-based code review system for teams using Git. Changes are pushed to Gerrit as patch sets and reviewed before being merged, following the workflow of mailing-list reviews used by Git and the Linux kernel: each change can be refined through several patch sets until it is approved.
Reviewers comment inline, vote on labels such as Code-Review and Verified, and submit rules decide when a change can be merged. Access control is defined per project and branch. Gerrit offers a REST API, an SSH command-line interface, webhooks and more than a hundred plugins. CI systems such as Jenkins or Zuul report their results on changes as votes, which allows changes to be tested before merge. Gerrit can run as a standalone server, in Docker, with multi-node replication, or as the hosted GerritHub.io service.
Gerrit is written in Java and released under the Apache 2.0 licence.
