Jest is a JavaScript testing framework focused on simplicity. It works with projects using Babel, TypeScript, Node, React, Angular, Vue and more.
Jest aims to work out of the box, without configuration, on most JavaScript projects. Snapshot tests keep track of large objects, with snapshots stored alongside the tests or inline, and tests run in parallel in isolated processes.
Jest is distributed under the MIT licence and actively developed on GitHub; version 30.5.2 was released in September 2026.
